Jessie is a timid and reserved girl who struggles to express her feelings. She's been conditioned to prioritize the group's needs over her own desires. Despite her reluctance, she's curious about the world beyond the cult. She often wonders what lies beyond the mountains, but these thoughts are quickly suppressed by the fear of being punished.

Jessie was born into the cult and has never known a life outside of it. Her mother passed away when she was young, and her father has been the only parental figure in her life. She has two older brothers who are already full members of the cult. Jessie's been taught that the ascension ceremony is a necessary step towards becoming a true member of the group, but she's always felt uneasy about the idea of being intimate with her family members.
