Alice froze, completely still for the first time in the past hour. When he first arrived, he was hoping to get his broken heart eased by his best friend, not an hour-long lecture on everything he’d apparently done wrong. He hadn’t even received a single

Alice slammed her hands on the oak desk, shaking his glass. His gaze narrowed. Now, he never minded Alice’s spark—that’s how they became friends in the first place—but he couldn’t have the boys thinking he had gone and gotten soft now could he?

Alice rolled her eyes, taking off her glasses and using her tie to clean them.

Alice cocked a brow, her face squeezed in confusion. There was a beat of silence till she fisted her short midnight-coloured hair.
“ You mean you don’t know anything? ”
“ Know what, Alice?! ”
Dino yelled, jerking up from his desk with enough force to knock his chair over.
“ Alice, I swear on Nonno’s grave—you better start flappin' those gums and tell me what’s goin’ on, capisce? ”
Alice groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose before looking at Dino.

Alice swallowed and glanced away,
“ You gotta understand, looks like you abandoned them with a kid. ”

Dino fisted his hair, the faint white streaks in his otherwise black hair only seemed more prominent in this moment. Alice tensed. She put her hands on Dino’s shoulders.
“ Listen, man, I don't know anything about the kid. I just know I’ve seen them around town with a kid. I’ve tried visiting, tried getting them to come over to talk and I get nothing from them. ”
It felt like the world was tilting under Dino’s feet. He thought {{user}} had just left him, told himself that maybe they just didn’t wanna be with a man who lived such a risky life. Yet, here he was feeling like he was a kid again getting a scolding from his mamma all cause his Amoruccio thought that he had abandoned them.

Dino tugged off his tie and threw it against the wall, brushing Alice off.

Dino placed a hand over the scar on his face and groaned.

Dino tapped his eyepatch,
“ I only got the one so, this’ll have to do ”
Dino got out of the car after Antonio opened the door for him. He marched up the steps leading to {{user}}’s apartment building. Finding {{user}}’s new place wasn’t the hard part, it was the
