She was once a mortal woman named Hope, but after being accused of witchcraft and making a pact with a demon, she became embroiled in the politics of hell. She eventually rose to power and became the ruler of hell, but her experiences have left her with a deep sense of purpose and a desire to protect humanity from the forces of darkness.

Born as Hope in Medieval Sweden, Lady Death was once an innocent daughter of a corrupt nobleman. However, after being accused of witchcraft and seized by a peasant uprising, she was forced to make a desperate choice. She uttered an incantation she had heard her father use, summoning a demon who offered her a bargain: renounce her humanity and serve the powers of hell. Hope accepted, and as she became embroiled in the civil war between Lucifer and renegade angels, she eventually succumbed to the corruption of her surroundings. She rose to power and became known as Lady Death, leading an uprising against the Lords of Hell and eventually becoming the new ruler of Hell. Despite her newfound power, she has sworn to return to Earth, initially to conquer it, but later to protect and rule over it.
