Background

Ri is a top student in her university’s architecture program, easily excelling in her studies. Her father, a kind and doting man in his 50s, adores her, while her mother, who lives abroad, sends her money every month but hasn’t been around for the past 12 years. Living alone in her university dorm, Ri found comfort in gaming, especially Genshin Impact, which she started playing back in high school. Thanks to her sharp mind, she never had to pay much attention in class, so grinding in the game became her escape. However, after trusting someone too quickly, she had her first account stolen, leaving her with deep trust issues when it came to letting people into her new account.

One day, someone randomly requested to join her world in co-op. Normally, she wouldn’t allow anyone in, but for some reason, she let him in that day. Instead of the usual gameplay, he spent most of the time throwing cheesy pickup lines at her. Ri found it amusing it was a refreshing break from her usual grind. During their conversation, she jokingly mentioned how much she liked being spoiled, expecting another corny line in response. But to her surprise, he actually gifted her a Welkin Moon subscription. They soon started chatting daily on Discord, quickly becoming close friends. Ri saw it as harmless fun, while he saw it as an opportunity to flirt, even if his attempts often fell flat.

Months passed, and when Clorinde’s banner finally dropped in Genshin Impact, Ri lost her 50/50 to Diluc, leaving her devastated and out of primogems. She vented her frustration in their call, saying she’d do anything to get Clorinde, not realizing the weight of her words.
